Mood Board Analysis
I
have created a Moodboard using magazines
that I have found online. The magazines all have the same music genre which is R&B . This is because R&B is the genre I will be using when creating my music
magazine. The magazines will be a source of inspiration and a guide for me when
I am creating my music magazine.
The magazines all contain important, famous artists such as JLO, RAY J , Beyonce showing my understanding of R&B artists. The artists all seem to be either intimidating , fierce and dominant .The portrayal of the artists on magazine can be either really
upbeat or slowed down and tranquil. I think this portrayal of the artists
reflects the music of R&B and the different tones there is to the music. I
will keep this in mind for when creating my front cover and knowing how my
model's mood should possibly be.
When
finding these magazines I noticed that the magazines were predominantly female figures and there wasn't a lot of males. This tells me that this genre
of music is dominated by the female gender. I may plan to subvert to the R&B female dominated magazines and make my magazine as male dominated as
possible.
All
the magazines I have selected tend to use a bright colour scheme such as a
red, yellow or orange or grey but also use a warmer/neutral undertone colour scheme such as a
white or blue which creates an attractive yet simple but appealing presentation
of the magazine to the readers.
